Hi, I’m Hannah Kirkman. Based in Somerset, in the South West, I’ve been a keen road runner since training for my first marathon in the early 1990s. I hit injury problems within the first year, and these just got worse and worse over time, despite extensive – and expensive! – physiotherapy. Like many in the running community, I just accepted injury as an occupational hazard, so it was a revelation to discover through Chi Running that it doesn’t have to be that way.
Chi Running has given me back my enjoyment of running, and enabled me to get back into marathon running – something I thought was over for me – and even go beyond 26.2 miles!
And while I began Chi Running because I just wanted to be able to run again, the difference it’s made to my life goes way beyond my running. I’ve experienced for myself the positive impact of mindful movement and alignment on health and well-being. And this inspired me to qualify as a personal trainer so I can help others discover the benefits of moving mindfully and well.
